Why get compounded medications at a PCAB Accredited Pharmacy? And what does PCAB mean?pcab.5
Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) was established to promote high quality in pharmacy compounding through a voluntary accreditation program that recognizes adherence to established principles, policies and standards.
While all pharmacies must meet licensure requirements, PCAB accredited pharmacies have gone the extra mile to demonstrate that they comply with nationally accepted quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement standards.  This helps assure that the patient receives a quality medication.
How does Johnson Compounding & Wellness Center maintain compliance as a PCAB Pharmacy?
In order to demonstrate compliance with PCAB standards and earn PCAB accreditation, Johnson Compounding and Wellness Center voluntarily participates in an evaluation process that includes:

  • * verification by PCAB that the pharmacy is not on probation for issues related to compounding quality, public safety or controlled    substances.
  • * verification that the pharmacy is properly licensed in each state it does business in.
  • * an extensive on-site evaluation by a PCAB surveyor, all of whom are compounding pharmacists trained in evaluating compliance with PCAB’s quality standards.  This evaluation includes:

  1. Hi — I would like to start taking compounded bio identical hormones. My current Dr. will not prescribe them for me and I was directed by a website to look for compounding pharmacies and ask what Dr’s they work with. Could you please advise me as to how to proceed with this issue?

Hi Kelly, we would be more than happy to help. Please give us a call @ 781-893-3870 and ask to speak to a pharmacist. They will be able to refer you to a local provider. Thanks!
